University of Louisville defensive lineman Ashton Gillotte and offensive lineman Michael Gonzalez have been named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Preseason Team, the league announced on Thursday.
Gillotte, a second-team All-American last season, is coming off a stellar year where he recorded 11.0 sacks and 14.5 tackles for loss. He achieved a career-best 3.0 sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss in a victory over Boston College. Beyond his on-field prowess, Gillotte has made significant contributions off the field, participating in numerous charitable activities and donating to local organizations. The West Palm Beach, Fla., native enters his final season ranked 10th on Louisville’s all-time sacks list.
Michael Gonzalez, a North Carolina native, was a cornerstone of the Cardinals’ offensive line, starting all 14 games at left guard. His efforts were instrumental in leading Louisville to its first appearance in the ACC title game. Gonzalez anchored an offense that averaged 178.5 rushing yards per game and scored over 30 points per game, helping the team to a 10-4 record.
