Catie Craig Wraps Up U.S. Amateur with Strong Summer Performance

Lady Topper Golf rising senior Catie Craig concluded her run at the 124th U.S. Amateur in Tulsa on Tuesday afternoon with the second round of stroke play.

Matching her first round performance, Craig posted a 5-over 76 in her final stroke play round. The Georgia native carded two birdies on her second and eighth holes and met par nine times throughout the round.

Craig finished the tournament tied for 77th with a total score of 10-over 152, missing the cut for the round of 64 match play.

Craig’s summer was filled with impressive achievements representing WKU across the country. Alongside her sister Caroline, she reached the round of 16 match play in the U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Tournament in May. In June, she tied for 23rd in the Sea Island Amateur Tournament.

The highlight of her summer came at the end of June when she won the 122nd Women’s North and South Amateur Championship, automatically qualifying her for the U.S. Amateur Tournament.

Returning to WKU this fall, Craig aims to carry her off-season momentum into a standout senior season with the Lady Toppers, building on her record-breaking junior year.
