Kentucky Softball Announces 2024 Big Blue Boo Event for October 20

The Kentucky Softball team has announced that the 2024 edition of the annual Big Blue Boo will take place on Sunday, October 20, at John Cropp Stadium. The Wildcats will face off against Tennessee, with the first pitch scheduled for 5 p.m. ET.

Event Details:

  • Free Admission: As in previous years, admission to The Big Blue Boo will be free for all fans. Gates will open at 3:30 p.m. ET, 90 minutes before the first pitch.
  • Special Entry: Kentucky Softball season ticket holders and members of the Designated Players Club will receive early entry at 3 p.m. ET, 30 minutes before gates open to the general public. To join the Designated Players Club, click here.

Matchup Information:

  • Home-and-Home Series: The game against Tennessee will be the second part of a home-and-home series this fall, as the two teams will not meet during the 2025 regular season due to the updated SEC schedule rotation. Kentucky will visit Tennessee on Saturday, October 5, for a 6 p.m. ET first pitch.

Broadcast Information:

  • Television Coverage: Big Blue Boo 4 will be televised on SEC Network+ and the ESPN app, making it one of the few fall games nationwide to be broadcast on linear or digital television. Kentucky and Tennessee first met in the inaugural Big Blue Boo during the 2021 fall season.

Fall Exhibition Schedule:

  • Season Opener: Kentucky’s fall exhibition season kicks off at Eastern Kentucky on Sunday, September 22, at 1 p.m. ET in Richmond.
  • Additional Games: The Wildcats will also face local teams, including Georgetown College (Sept. 27), Morehead State (Sept. 28), and Lake Land College (Sept. 29). The Battle of the Bluegrass against Louisville is set for October 17 at 6:30 p.m. ET.
  • Home Games: All fall season games at John Cropp Stadium will have free admission, with seating on a first-come, first-served basis. Gates will open an hour before each scheduled first pitch. Except for Big Blue Boo 4 on October 20, concessions will not be available, so fans are encouraged to bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages.

Fans are invited to join the Wildcats for a fun-filled day at John Cropp Stadium, as Kentucky Softball continues its tradition of hosting one of the most anticipated fall events in college softball.
